Free Hourly Quality Check Sheet

Catch Drift Every Hour. Not at the End of the Shift.

By the time a problem shows up in a final inspection, you may have hours of product to hold, rework, or scrap. Hourly checks at the line catch it while it's still a small adjustment.

What is an hourly quality check sheet?

An hourly quality check sheet is the record operators or QA technicians use to check product against specification at regular intervals during a run. It captures measurements like net weight and temperature, plus pass or fail checks for seals, labels, date codes, metal detection, and visual defects.

What's included

  • A specifications box where you set target, minimum, and maximum values
  • Hourly rows for three weight samples, average weight, and product temperature
  • Pass or Fail checks for seal and fill, label and date code, metal detector, visual and foreign matter, and packaging
  • Automatic red flags for out-of-spec results and a count per hour
  • A required action column for any failed check
  • A chart of average weight against your limits through the shift
  • A Deviation Log for holds, dispositions, and root causes

How to use it

Set your specs, rename the checks to match your product, and complete one row every hour. Any red cell needs an action in the same row. If product may be affected, hold it back to the last good check and log it on the Deviation Log.

Catch Defects Early. Protect Margin. Pass Every Audit.

Poor quality quietly costs a typical manufacturer 10% to 20% of sales (ASQ), and a defect follows the 1-10-100 rule: $1 to prevent, $10 to correct, and $100 once it reaches a customer.

Hourly checks at the point of work catch drift while it's still cheap to fix, before it becomes scrap, a hold, or a recall.

Consistent records also give you the proof customers and auditors expect, and the data to find the root cause of repeat problems.
